My father Harvey Alfred McLean

My father Harvey Alfred McLean served in WW1 with the 49th Loyal Edmonton Regiment. He was injured, suffered from shrapnel embedded in parts of his body for the remainder of his life. He also had part of the bone in one leg removed and so walked with a limp. Never once in my life did I hear ever hear him complain. He was and always will be my hero. All he ever said about the war was that it was as close to hell as one will ever get while still being alive.
