Leonard Minskip, teamster

Leonard Minskip was a teamster who took part during this battle, he collected the dying and wounded, transporting them to the field hospital. During the battle he lost half his foot but carried on retrieving the wounded, he was gassed and eventually transported to England where he convalesced and remained until he died in 1972. His grandson Robert Minskip is now resident in Edmonton, Alberta.
