On Images and Copyright

Edmonton City as Museum Project is a museum without physical collections. All images on our website are the property of their respective owners.

Edmonton City as a Museum Project does not hold the copyright to images used in our stories and exhibits unless otherwise noted. Our images are sourced from various archives in Edmonton, Alberta, and Canada. Please see image credits and captions in individual articles for sources.

ECAMP does not own copyright for any newspaper clippings or clips for external media used in our stories or exhibits unless otherwise noted. Newspaper clippings are cited to their original publications. Originals can typically be found through local archives and online through sites like newspapers.com, Peel’s Prairie Provinces at the University of Alberta, and other archives and online databases.

Any images of artifacts will also cite the collection source (ie. a museum or personal collection).

Should you wish to republish images used on our site please use the citations to learn more about their ownership and location.

ECAMP relies on archival and artifact collections from institutions and individuals as sources in helping to tell Edmontonian stories. Many Edmonton archival images, newspapers, and artifacts can be found through the City of Edmonton Archives, Provincial Archives of Alberta, University of Alberta Archives and Digitized Collections, University of Calgary Digital Collections/Glenbow Archives, and Library and Archives Canada. We encourage you to visit their websites to learn more about using their collections in your own work.
