Objects of Freedom

Bring an object that symbolizes Freedom to our exhibit and tell your story for a day.

Is there an object that you have that symbolizes your freedom?

Who, what or where are you free from?

We are creating a pop up museum with your objects of Freedom on September 28th from 1 pm to 4 pm. at the Prince of Wales Armoury. Objects are dropped off and picked up after you’ve visited the other Museums in the building – like a kid in an Ikea ball pit.

A Pop Up Museum is a temporary exhibit created by the people who show up to participate. It works by choosing a theme (in this case Freedom) and venue and then inviting people to bring an object on-topic to share, like a community show-and-tell. Each participant writes a label for his or her object and puts it on display. A Pop Up Museum usually lasts for a few hours on one day, and focuses on bringing people together in conversation through stories, art, and objects.
