Group photo of the Scrivano family and other Italian immigrants on the deck of a ship on route to Canada. The family comprised four brothers and three sisters. Two sisters had already immigrated to Edmonton and one of them, Assunta Gaudio, sponsored Salvatore (Sam) Scrivano. Sam made the journey to Edmonton in January 1923, with a sister and her friend. Shortly after his arrival, a brother-in-law got him a job with the CNR, where he worked for 42 years. While in Italy in 1925, Sam met a young woman named Maria and they got married.
