Jane’s Walk: Heroes of 107th Avenue

Sunday, May 8th 2016

The walk will begin at 2:00 pm at the Edmonton Immigration Services Association (10720 113 St NW).

The Heroes of 107th exhibit is a collaborative exhibit preserving the history and sharing the realities of 107th residents and workers through storytelling, photographs, and video. This walk will take you through a museum of lives, showcasing the most interesting element of cultural diversity – people; neighbours, immigrants, friends, refugees, empowered to share their story. What is cultural diversity, what does it mean and what does it look like? How do social constructs isolate communities? What can we do to build a better, more inclusive sense of community? When it comes to bridging the intercultural gap, who are the heroes?
