Float Start: Laurier Park, we will launch the boats at 1:00 pm

End: Capilano Park, disembark at 3:30*

We will all meet at 12:30 at Capilano Park where a bus will transport all attendees to Laurier Park where we will board the canoes. We will float and paddle downstream to Capilano Park where we will disembark at  3:30.

*Please note that due to the unpredictable nature of water flow on the North saskatchewan River the tour length may vary.

Our next tour is a River Heritage Tour —a 2.5 hour voyageur canoe trip down the North Saskatchewan River! This time, to keep it interesting, we will be focusing on the environmental and ecological history of our beautiful river valley.

Billie, our tour guide, has pulled together a one pager on the areas she will be referencing during the tour. We will have a couple of copies but if you want a perfect primer for the trip check out this link: Historical River Float Sept 2015

The voyageur canoes are contracted through Haskin’s Canoes and we’ll be bringing along Billie Milholland of the North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance as our tour guide. Billie will guide us along significant points of interest through downtown’s natural and human made vistas. This is a rare chance to experience Edmonton’s ecological history from the vantage point of its earliest waterborne explorers!
